Enabling Dashboard Features

QUESTION

What is the procedure for enabling features of the Dashboard in OSCAR such as changing the dashboard provider?

ANSWER

The Dashboard can potentially expose private patient and practitioner data to users without proper authorization.  For the clinic's protection access to the dashboard is locked to an authenticated logged in user only.  An authorized user can extend access to to any - or all - users through OSCAR's Role / Privilege manager:

  1. click Administration
  2. select System Management
  3. and then Assign Role/Rights to Object
  4. scroll down until you see  "Add Role/Privilege" in the left most column
  5. select the Role that dashboard privileges will be assigned to (see screenshot)
  6. scroll through the Object Id list and check off the following objects and the "All Rights privilege" (see screenshot):
    1. _dashboardChgUser
    2. _dashboardDisplay
    3. _dashboardDrilldown
    4. _dashboardManager
  7. scroll all the way to the bottom and then click Add
