Unable to Submit MSP Bills for New Doctor
QUESTION:
Our newest doctor does not have an account that I can see on the "simulate submission" and "general submission". As a result we haven't submitted anything to MSP under his name.
How do I fix this?
ANSWER:
This is most likely because the new doctor was not given a provider Type in the Provider Record that is capable of billing. Types with billing authorization are Doctor, Midwife, Resident. To change a provider's Type:
- from OSCAR's main menu, click Administration
- select User Management
- select Search/Edit/Delete Provider Records
- search for a Provider Record by Name or Provider number
- open the Provider Record from the search results
- change the Provider "Type" to one of Doctor, Resident, or Midwife.
- scroll to the bottom and then click Update Record.
