Unable to Submit MSP Bills for New Doctor

QUESTION:

Our newest doctor does not have an account that I can see on the "simulate submission" and "general submission". As a result we haven't submitted anything to MSP under his name.

How do I fix this?

ANSWER:

This is most likely because the new doctor was not given a provider Type in the Provider Record that is capable of billing.  Types with billing authorization are Doctor, Midwife, Resident.  To change a provider's Type:

  1. from OSCAR's main menu, click Administration
  2. select User Management
  3. select Search/Edit/Delete Provider Records
  4. search for a Provider Record by Name or Provider number
  5. open the Provider Record from the search results
  6. change the Provider "Type" to one of Doctor, Resident, or Midwife.
  7. scroll to the bottom and then click Update Record.
