Monitor the Status of Sent and Received Faxes

1. Select Administration / Faxes / Manage Faxes

2. In Search Faxes input today's date as a date range. ie From: 2023-09-11 To: 2023-09-11

3. Click Fetch Faxes

4. Review the fax activity for today

5. Make other selections such as Provider, Status, or Demographic name to filter down the results.

6. Simply clicking Fetch Faxes again will refresh and update the status'

Status;

RECEIVED is a fax that was successfully received into OSCAR. Click on View in the Action column to see a preview of the fax.

COMPLETE is a fax that was successfully sent to the intended recipient. Click on View in the Action column to see a preview of the fax, or Resend to send the fax again.

Other Status';

SENT: the fax file has been prepared and sent to the fax gateway for processing (SRFax)

WAITING: the EMR (OSCAR) is waiting for the fax gateway to confirm a final status of the fax

CANCELLED: the fax was cancelled by the EMR user while the fax was in SENT or WAITING status - or - the fax was cancelled by the user from the fax gateway interface (SRFax)

ERROR: the fax failed sending to the fax gateway - OR - the fax gateway failed to send the fax after n attempts. Hover the mouse pointer over the ERROR status to display the reason for the error. Click on Resend in the Action column to send the fax again. HOWEVER resend will not work for errors such as "destination not a fax", "no answer", "invalid fax number" etc... Re-sending the fax will allow you to input a different phone number if needed.

UNKNOWN: in the extremely rare occasion that the status of the fax job is unidentifiable

RESOLVED: this is a legacy status still in use by other OSCAR vendors.
